About BookCurious

“Who are you?” said the Caterpillar. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll (1865)

Hello and welcome to BookCurious! I’m Amanda, a youth services librarian and life-long reader who believes that books are curious things for curious people. They have a lot to teach us about the world and ourselves.

I graduated from Simmons College in Boston with degrees in Library Science and Children’s Literature and have worked at several public libraries, an indie bookstore, and the Massachusetts Center for the Book. Right now I’m running a youth department for a busy library in suburban Boston while raising a 2-year-old, petting a needy cat, and trying to keep my husband fed (he’s actually a pretty decent cook himself, credit where due). Sometimes I even find time to read!

Besides reading, a few of my favorite things are animals, cooking, traveling, getting outdoors, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with friends and family.

You can find me here on the blog and on Twitter at @BookCurious.
